 In Memoriam - Douglas Charles Rowland

 
 

ROWLAND, Charles Douglas, Life Member DECEMBER 28, 1921 - MARCH 4, 2010 Passed away at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto in his 89th year. Predeceased by his parents, James and Mary (North) Rowland, brother James Rowland and sisters Mary K. Rowland, Dorothy Edward and Patricia Gardiner. Also predeceased by his sister-in-law Mary S. Rowland and Peter Fisher. Doug will be fondly remembered by his nephew Jim Rowland, niece Joan Fisher, great nephews Ian Fisher (Rebecca), David Fisher (Jodie), his great grand niece Maddy and great grand nephews Charlie and Henry. He will also be greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues. Doug was a founding partner of the firm Neish, Owen, Rowland and Roy (NORR) and was Partner-in-Charge of Design at NORR Partnership Limited, Architects and Engineers, until his retirement in the late 1980s. Prior to working at NORR, Doug was a principal architect with John B. Parkin Architects, Engineers, Planners (the predecessor firm to NORR). In keeping with Doug's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Following cremation, burial will take place in Kingston, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's memory to The St. Michael's Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by his family. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will take place at a later date. Arrangements in the care of the Trull 'North Toronto' Funeral Home (416) 488-1101
